Bran's Kitchen: Pita Bread

As every SC member know's subbers get the early dibs in the shop so to make it seem like I was very busy today ahem...I made some good eats.
Pita Bread I love it! Now I know how to bake it following this sweet little recipe for Pita Bread I set about on my lengthy endeavor. I recommend observing your dough as mine was ready in an hour and a half vs. three and watch you bread mine only took 3 minutes on the first side and 2 on the other. If you don't mind the high heat in your oven give this a try.

So now I have these fantastic pita pockets waiting to be filled with greatness! After nabbing the kit I wanted and I really behaved because right now....tough money times. So I pulled out some chicken and divided it into two meals. The first was my lemon pepper Zingers with spinach which made a great lunch after all of that pita bread making and baking.

I sided this dish with fresh slices of cucumber, I love them unpeeled!
The final dish was a feat of course and I have yet to test it on the person I was aiming for. No-mayo chicken salad which mine is different as I used what I had in my kitchen. I used walnuts and fresh grapes :). So it passed the hubby test, the big boy not so much because he swears he is not a picky eater, and the baby wanted seconds!  I prepared my chicken on the stove top with garlic, olive oil, minced garlic, rosemary, turmeric, and curry powder. let them cook for a few minutes on each side then added water and put a lid on with a lower setting and forgot about it for 20 minutes. Shredding the chicken is easy and the chicken was super moist!

I paired this pita with a side of spinach, plum tomatoes, garlic salt, and a pinch of mozzarella and some gigantic strawberries!
As always enjoy!

Some Digital Layouts for my "52 Inspirations" at Oscraps

Been a very quiet day, a little bit of a lonely day, full of prayer, full of retrospect, full of anticipation for the passing results my husband needs tomorrow morning. So I worked on my digital scrapbook, still my favorite, here are weeks 10 and 11 featuring my little one. Have a beautiful weekend everyone and maybe just a few prayers our way if you can spare them :)

Layout for weekly Designer challenge 4/10/12

Our challenge was to use 2 or more stamps...Well, I love stamps so no problem there, but a beautiful chance to showcase all of the kits I purchased from April. I Purchased the main kit, Sorbonne, Montemorte, and Louvre. In this page my personal challenge was to use a little bit from each of the kits plus one item from last months kit. I used my SC Mister Huey's, custard, and clay as splatters first. Than I used the mask in Louvre and used several of my Prima chalk inks to create a blended effect. I took one of the thick pieces of board that comes in our kits to protect the paper and used the background stamp from Sorbonne and than used the sequins, stitching, and patterned paper to create the image I wanted. I used the pocket from one of last months kit and the Love you More Stamp from Montemorte along with other things from stash.
My husband is on the way to drill this weekend and this is an important weekend please send good thoughts that he will overcome what he needs to do so he can move forward towards success on his new mission. Have a great day all!

Some Older layouts and a Card

So I have been busy and have some layouts that I worked on last week. Last night I received my beautiful box of happiness :). When I processed and looked at each element of each of my April SC kits the ideas were endless. The first thing I created this morning was a card for my mom for mothers day. Today I will also make my hubby's birthday card he celebrates Friday and than has drill this weekend. I am making him his favorite red velvet with cream cheese.

Just a little kitty post...

When we moved into our home a little over a year ago, we were moving back to my childhood neighborhood just a few doors down from parents. This has been a blessing as during this time, I was at the end of my pregnancy, overwhelmed with the move, missing my hubby, and trying to help my big boy adjust to his new school. My first house guest was a gorgeous white persian mix whom I named princess. I discovered she was expecting and soon after the move in she disappeared. That was in February of 2011and in April of 2011 I met her little one who I call Osyra (O-sy-ra). Since then we have been blessed with another generation from Princess, however it looks as though only one is around and I think he is a little boy. I am working o a name for him and discovered my little princess is expecting again. My goal is to get them all fixed and very soon. They are welcome as outside guests....but they have to get fixed. The only obstacle is the long wait for them to get in and we have been on it a while. There are many kitties in our neighborhood and we are all working towards getting them fixed so that they do not over populate and it is the responsible thing to do. Here are some pictures of the kitties....
This is princesses newest one he is about 4 months old.

This is princess, she lost her eye in a fight with a racoon

This is princess and her baby from the most recent litter however  this baby is missing now.

This is scardy-cat a random visitor who hangs around but is truly afraid of her own shadow.
I have already posted a picture of Osyra, in the next few days I want to try and pictures of some of the other cats who have been in the neighborhood for years.

Have a good Night!
